Buy it once.
One-time purchase. No subscription, ever. Free updates within the major version. Nothing locks and nothing expires — the app stays free and whole, every scene, every look, the AI surface and the full rig — and the only change is a “LUXAUDICA FREE” mark riding your output and your exports. You pay once, to take the mark off your work.
Checkout is live. Your licence key appears the moment you pay, and arrives by email.

How this sits next to the category
Resolume Avenue is €299. VDMX6 is $199 — the same as this, from a tool with a fifteen-year head start. So the number is not the argument. Two things here are: you buy it once, and the free tier is the entire app rather than a demo with the good parts taken out.
Resolume's unlicensed build watermarks its video output too — a watermarked free tier is how this category has always worked.
If it is going on a company card
There is no business edition. A bar, a museum and a living room buy the same licence at the same price, through the same button above. What changes for a room you are billed for is who has to approve it — so here is what those two people usually want.
What the licence replaces
What one licence covers
One licence activates one Mac at a time. The seat is registered under that Mac’s own name, which is how the provider identifies it, and a second Mac will not activate while the first still holds it.
The seat moves. Settings → License → “Deactivate this Mac…” hands it back so the same key can be entered on another machine, and the Mac you release goes back to carrying the mark. That button is in the app, on the Mac holding the seat — and releasing it asks the provider to free it without waiting for an answer, so do it from the machine you are retiring, while you still have it.
Procurement sees it once
One payment, and no renewal date to diarise. A licence key is not rented: once the app holds one it treats that Mac as licensed for good, so nothing expires, nothing has to be re-approved next year, and no invoice arrives to be matched against a budget line. Updates within the major version are included.
What IT is signing off
There is no account. Nothing to provision, no directory to join, no password to rotate — you download the app, and a licence is a key somebody pastes into Settings → License.
- Before it is licensed, it makes no licence request at all
- The launch check is skipped outright unless the app is already holding a key, so a free or trial Mac never contacts the store.
- Once licensed, it re-checks that key at launch
- It posts the licence key and the id of the seat it holds to live.dodopayments.com, the provider that issued them; the first activation also sends the Mac’s own name, which is what labels that seat. That is the entire request. No audio, no file names, no usage.
- It looks for updates
- It fetches a signed update feed from github.com on a background schedule and prompts you when a newer signed build exists — a request that necessarily carries your IP address and the app version, as any download does.
- Those two are the only places it reaches the internet
- The app links two third-party dependencies: the updater, and an analytics SDK that ships switched off — it has no project key, and a master switch every reporting path checks first. There is no advertising and nothing is reported about you. Audio is analysed on the Mac, in memory, and the app never sends it anywhere.
- A room that loses its connection keeps working
- If the licence check cannot reach the provider the app touches nothing and asks again next launch. A dead network never puts the mark back on a Mac you paid for.
- Everything else is opt-in and stays on the machine
- The local control endpoint an AI assistant drives is off until you switch it on, and it binds to 127.0.0.1 — it refuses any connection that is not from the same Mac. OSC and MIDI talk to your own network and your own hardware.
More than one room
There is no volume rate published here and no business edition to ask about, but there is somebody to ask. If you are putting this in several rooms or across several sites, write to us before you roll it out.

The questions everyone asks
- Is it a subscription?
- No. One payment, yours permanently, with free updates within the major version.
- Is there a trial, and does it run out?
- The free download is the trial, and it never runs out: the whole app — every scene, every look, the AI surface — free forever. The only difference is a “LUXAUDICA FREE” mark on your video output and exports. Buying removes it for good.
- What do I need to run it?
- macOS 15+ · Apple Silicon.
- Do I have to route my audio through something?
- No. It taps system audio directly — a track, a browser tab, your DJ software, a DAW, a mic. No BlackHole, no Loopback.
- Is my audio uploaded anywhere?
- Never. All analysis happens on your Mac, in realtime. Nothing about what you play leaves the machine.
- What's the AI part?
- Luxaudica exposes an MCP surface, so an AI assistant can author scenes, tune looks and run a whole show for you — and it can see its own output and correct itself. It's in the free tier.
- How do I buy it?
- The button above. Dodo Payments handles the checkout; your licence key appears the moment you pay and arrives by email as well. Paste it into Settings → License and the mark comes off. Lose it later and you can get it back yourself.
