The living room.
Goal: music night turns the TV into art, and nobody touches a computer after the first
keypress. One mission, once — about fifteen minutes — and it's yours forever.

Source: System audio One pick in the source menu — now everything the Mac plays feeds the art: Spotify, vinyl rips, a movie, a friend's phone over AirPlay.
why: this is the set-and-forget source. You'll never think about it again.
Send it to the TV Connect the TV/projector, drag the visual window onto it, press f . The panel stays on your Mac.
why: the art belongs on the biggest, most comfortable surface in the room.
Pick the room's resting look Step through scenes with n and find your default. For living rooms, the nocturnes earn their keep: Smoke, Tide, Firefly Field, Zen Garden.
why: you're choosing wallpaper for the evenings — calm wins over spectacle.
Soften the response Punch low (0–0.2), speed slightly down, trails up a touch. Ambient up a hair if the room is bright.
why: dinner guests should notice the music breathing, not a light show demanding attention.
Turn on auto-pilot, slow Auto-pilot on, ~3–5 minutes per change (or 128 beats), surprise moderate. Pool: leave it on everything, or curate after a week.
why: the picture stays fresh all evening with zero input from the couch.
Cap the frame rate Max FPS → 30 for ambient evenings.
why: half the work, silent fans, identical character — trails are frame-rate-compensated, so the smear looks the same.
Let color follow the music Toggle Key color on.
why: albums in different keys paint the room in genuinely different light. It's the subtle magic guests ask about.
Save it as "Evenings" Save the whole state as a look named Evenings. Next time: open app, press 1, done.
why: the entire setup ritual becomes one keypress.
Optional: a weekend of taste Each evening, when a look lands with you, save it. After a week, set auto-pilot's pool to only your saved looks.
why: now the app improvises exclusively within YOUR taste.
Taste notes Jazz & classical: Punch to 0, Macro reactive off, nocturnes only. The visuals become weather, not commentary. Electronic evenings: Punch 0.3, Macro reactive on — builds and drops gently steer the room. Parties: borrow the DJ trainer 's showtime moves; your "Evenings" look is one keypress away when the neighbors complain.
